Description
The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO is seeking a Cardiothoracic Radiologist to join a dynamic group of 12 university faculty members and two fellows in the Cardiothoracic Imaging Section.
The section clinical services include Radiography, Thoracic CT/MR, and Cardiac CT/MR. The ideal candidate would be committed to academic Cardiothoracic Radiology, with a firm commitment to clinical care, education, and scholarship. The optimal candidate would have expertise in the interpretation of Chest Radiography, Cardiac CT, and Cardiothoracic MR. Body CT reads are also available, if desired. The ability to staff Emergency Radiology and perform transthoracic needle biopsies is also welcomed. The section is a very close, supportive group with strong mentorship in clinical development, teaching, research, and national involvement. Candidates with an established research background will benefit from the environment and infrastructure at MIR with clinical research associates and dedicated research imaging cameras including PET/MRI. There is a large diagnostic radiology residency and numerous fellowships. There is a research residency and a T-32 training grant. Members of the section are quite active in many national organizations including ACR, RSNA, NASCI, STR, ASER, the ABR and ARRS.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants should be ABR certified with either an MD or MD PhD and fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Radiology. The section works closely with the divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pulmonary Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Pathology. We have multiple shared conferences, including the Stuart Sagel Chest Case Conference, Interstitial Lung Disease Conference, Thoracic Oncology Conference and Congenital Heart Disease Conference. The ideal candidate would be one who would enjoy participating in these conferences. We also play a key role in training an immensely talented group of Radiology residents. With morning conferences and noon conferences, the applicant will experience one of the most rewarding teaching opportunities.

The salary range for this position is between $400,000 and $500,000, commensurate with academic rank/experience. There are ample opportunities to supplement income with additional internal moonlighting. The university also provides a generous benefit package.
