Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
At our Echocardiography department, our highly trained staff employs state-of-the-art technology that uses sound waves to create moving pictures of our patients’ hearts that can pinpoint areas of heart muscle that are not contracting well because of poor blood flow or injury from previous injuries. Echocardiography can also detect possible blood clots inside the heart, fluid buildup in the pericardium and problems with the aorta, as well as identifying heart problems in infants and children. Our Echocardiography department includes specially trained technicians and qualified physicians as part of our award-winning Cardiac Services.
As a Certified Echo Technologist, you will play a key role in helping the Cardiology department at Straub deliver compassionate cardiac care to our patients and their families by performing noninvasive cardio-vascular studies and electro-cardiographic procedures.
